Preparation Works

Earth works are performed by soil type. Strip foundation in standard cases is made 40 cm wide and 50 cm deep. The strip foundation has to be covered with gravel ballast min. 200 mm thick. For freezing and squashing soil it is necessary to make the bottom surface of gravel ballast at a non-freezing depth. The posts and wall should be measured before the foundations are poured. When concreting the armouring is anchored in the depth of foundation 40 × the diameter of the armouring in the pillar distance. It is necessary to anchor the armouring regularly along the entire length of the fence wall foundation. Foundations are made by soil type. The foundations can be concreted 5 to 20 cm above the ground level, or they can be concreted only 10 cm above the ground and use one row of smooth blocks.

Where the bearing capacity of the soil is low, the bottom surface of the strip, or the gravel ballast, should be wider.

It is recommended to make damp-proofing between the foundations and walling by double penetration coat or tar paper.
