Gravity Stone

The GRAVITY STONE construction system is designed to build breast gravitational walls. The system consists of several concrete special shapes that can be compounded into as many variations of breast wall as a box of bricks. The joints of special shapes are dry; in one layer they are connected through a shaped lock; special shapes upward are connected by means of plastics plugs. The inner wall space is filled up with suitable backfilling material.

System components are produced in manufacturing lines produced in the USA using the vibropressed concrete technology with a small water-cement ratio. By means of this technology high concrete strength is achieved. The construction of breast walls using the GRAVITY STONE system is quick and easy.

• Aesthetic look
  Breast walls built using the GRAVITY STONE system look good. When designing a wall you can choose from among various colours of special shapes and also among various finishings of face elements. Smooth and split face elements are available. Six basic colour finishes can be applied. Building walls from individual special shapes enables various wall shapes both in ground-plan (rounded walls, cranked walls, etc.) and in elevation arrangements.The key aesthetic impression of these walls rests in segmenting large monotonous areas into smaller and better perceived wholes.
• Universality
  The GRAVITY STONE construction system of breast walls can accommodate itself to any ground-plan. The walls can be straight, corrugated, concave or convex, or cranked into inner or outer angles. Such universality allows for building walls in variants according to the ground shape, in various elevation arrangements, etc. Gravitational walls enable building additional structures such as terrain steps and ramps; they also allow for scaling wall heights on varying ground gradient.The system enables you to react in a simple way to current implementation circumstances - for instance to easily avoid large stones, save trees, etc. The walls of the GRAVITY STONE system can be designed as modular ones (composed only from special shapes) or reinforced (the soil behind the wall is enforced by a geogrid). Modular walls are suitable up to the height of 6m and in a more solid environment, for example rocky ground. It is desirable to design reinforced walls in lower quality soil or in cases of dynamic loading.
• Execution
  The mortarless dry joints of the GRAVITY STONE system are far preferable to stiffer mortar joints of traditional breast walls. The structures executed by means of dry assembly enable relative movements between individual special shapes due to uneven settlement, different loading and other influences. Dry joints fundamentally inhibit unsightly cracks in bed and side joints, which can happen in traditional, mainly plastered walls.Dry bed joints between the special shapes freely force water out in front of the wall and thus decrease hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.
• Assembly
  The assembly of a breast wall from the GRAVITY STONE special shapes is undemanding. It requires only a couple of simple, repetitive elemental operations that do not require either qualified or professionally trained workers. The assembly requires only limited equipment. On the other hand the assembly instructions as they are prescribed ensure the highest possible achievable quality. • Durability
  For producing special shapes for the GRAVITY STONE system high-strength concrete with low water-cement ratio is used. If a GRAVITY STONE system breast wall is placed in a typical environment, its quality does not deteriorate for the time of its expected lifetime, i.e. approx. 100 years. Also the lifetime of other wall components such as gravelly filling, polymer geogrids or plastics plugs is very long.
• Price
  Investment costs of purchasing a breast wall made in the GRAVITY STONE system are comparable to other wall systems and are substantially lower than the investment costs of building a concrete wall. With respect to the concrete durability in KB - BLOK system products and a long-term nice look of the wall the maintenance costs are minimal.
