Walling principles
- We can achieve the best results when using KB - BLOK system materials by joint walling. Joint thickness is 8-10 mm. If you are not sure about the thickness of mortar, you'd better use walling preparations from steel bars of 10 mm diameter.
- Use only cement mortar for the walling. We recommend our KB - BLOK system Special mortar mix .
- Carry out continuous pointing during the bricklaying. This will lead to the best results and elimination of the risk of a messy surface look of the shaped pieces due to subsequent pointing.
- When positioning shaped pieces use a rubber or wooden mallet.
- Follow the elementary technological principles, such as walling and concreting armatures at a minimum temperature of + 5°C, minimum temperature of the concrete mix + 7°C.
- The hollows in shaped pieces are not designed to be filled; this is done only when necessary for better strength of the structure, on a structural engineer's recommendation, on the basis of project documentation. To fill the hollows of concrete shaped pieces use C16/20 concrete of soft consistency.
- The concrete is solidified, e.g. by steel rod incisions.
- All the brick shaped pieces of the KB - BLOK system are made with a groove that enables breaking them in half according to the particular wall structure. For different sizes it is best to cut or drill the pieces.
- Take extra care of clean walling, so that there are no unnecessary smears on the surface side of the pieces.
- The basic module of the system is width and height of 200 mm. Therefore adjust the external dimensions of the building envelope to the modular width of 200 mm. The height of individual visual elements on the facade should be equal to multiplications of 200 mm as well.
- External dimensions for filling the structural openings, especially windows and doors, should respect the same 200 mm multiplication rule.
