12th annual competition in the 2011-2012 school year

The next year of the competition has commenced. The Josef Gočár Construction Secondary Industrial School in Prague has launched the new annual instalment of the “DESIGN A KB-BLOK HOUSE” competition. As like every year, the competition has 2 categories for 3rd and 4th grade students. The competition conditions, dates and rules of participation along with the registration form are available for download below. Along with the ceremonial launch of the competition, the school held a technical workshop led by our Company employees, focused primarily on theoretical and practical aspects on designing KB-BLOK construction systems. The participants were the potential contestants, i.e., 3rd and 4th grade students.

Closing ceremony of 11th year of the competition

Students at the Josef Gočár Construction Secondary Industrial School in Prague have successfully participated in the competition. In total, 16 competing projects were submitted for evaluation, out of which 9 projects were in the 3rd grade category and 7 projects in the 4th grade category. The competing projects were evaluated primarily in terms of correctness of application of the KB-BLOK product range, the structural design, utilisation of the product range portfolio, and application of an architectural solution. The contestants had a very hard time coping with horizontal wall reinforcement using ring beams. Due to serious formal structural or technical shortcomings, 3 competing projects in the 3rd grade category and 1 in the 4th category were eliminated from the evaluation. The relatively different quality levels among the competing projects was evident. Both high-quality competing projects and ones of lower quality were submitted in both categories. In spite of that, it was possible to award prizes for all the award-winning placings in both competition categories. The awarding ceremony for the winners of the 2010-2011 competition took place in the school assembly hall on 16 September 2011 in the presence of our Company employees and leading representatives of the school. Miss Lucie Tobolková won the 3rd grader competition category and Mr Tomáš Klesnar won the 4th grader category; the latter had placed highly in the previous year as well. All the winners were given monetary and material gifts. Congratulations to the winners!
