Secondary technical schools
Our Company has annually announced a student competition named
“DESIGN A KB-BLOK HOUSE” in cooperation with selected secondary technical schools and colleges, in which all 3rd and 4th grade students can participate. The competition is designed as single-round and is open for two categories, separately at each school. The contestants’ assignment is to design a single-family house or a public building with maximum use of our Company’s construction systems and produce building project documentation for their design. The competition is evaluated by an expert jury at its conclusion. The jury evaluates the projects and announces winners of projects in each category, who receive monetary and material gifts from our Company.
Since 2015, the “DESIGN A KB-BLOK HOUSE” competition has had an extra nation-wide round, where secondary schools compete against each other. The competition winner receives a monetary gift of CZK 50,000.
Our support to secondary teaching and education not only takes the form of student competitions, but also group excursions to our manufacturing plant combined with training and practical building demonstrations, support to students’ individual study internships at our Company workplaces and, last but not least, we support the schools with technical handbooks and Company materials as well as supplies of building materials for practical teaching. Our Company’s primary objective in collaboration with the involved secondary schools is to widen the construction students’ theoretical knowledge with new techniques and practical findings beyond the scope of normal teaching, increase students’ interest in KB-BLOK construction systems, and thus enable its wide application in construction practice.
