Liberec Construction Secondary Industrial School
We began our collaboration with the Liberec Construction Secondary Industrial School in the 2004 school year. First we welcomed the students and the teachers at our plant in June. The excursion and introduction of subsequent study years with our production issues and new products then became and remained a tradition every two years. We contribute to the travel costs, which the school could otherwise hardly afford from their budget.
They submit 6-10 student projects with KB-BLOK annually, and their quality is always very high.
We held the awards ceremony for the 2011-2012 competition year together with the school management on 1 October 2012. This time, both third and fourth grader categories were opened.
Miss Zuzana Neťuková submitted an excellent project for the 4th grader competition, winning a clear first place. Projects by Lukáš Bezdička and Tomáš Kučera filled the places.
Four students submitted projects for single-family houses. The jury awarded prizes for the first and following places to Jan Vesecký, Michal Umlauf, Ondřej Balický, and further gave an honourable mention to Radek Jiroudek.
Each received a monetary award and a certificate.
We then organised a workshop on concrete building structures for this year’s third graders. The serious lesson was concluded with entertainment and laughter, when our technician Bc. J. Tolar showed a few photographs from construction projects where the builder had improvised or the structure failed and resulted in deformations.
