KB blocks as protection from X-ray radiation

In collaboration with Syner s.r.o., the master contractor for the construction of the Proton Therapy Centre for Na Bulovce University Hospital in Prague, we delivered concrete building blocks for the protective shield wall for the X-ray units. These structures protect both the hospital staff and patients from the effects of artificial radiation. For this purpose, we developed a new formulation and work procedure for manufacturing KB 2-10 A building blocks with a volume density of concrete above 2,300 kg/m3.
