Continuous fence wall

The continuous fence wall is designed as a bracket embedded in the foundation. The foundation strip can be either vertical or horizontal. If using a vertical foundation strip, the earth around the strip has to be compacted properly to enable the transmission of forces from the foundations to the surrounding earth. Using a horizontal foundation strip is more convenient. The footing base need not be at freezing depth, but the foundation can be laid on a gravel bed at least 200 mm thick. Only for frost and slush-prone earth should the footing base between the earth and the gravel bed be at a non-freezing depth. The fence is reinforced with 1 vertical rebar in each hollow. The rebar diameter depends on the fence height, building blocks used and fence location in terms of wind load. Design expansion joints every max. 8 m.
