Corners

The corner design is an important point of modular coordination. Corner blocks are manufactured for all the modular series, except the 300 mm series and facing blocks.

Some types of composite structures result in a disagreement between the modular coordinations of internal and outer masonry. We recommend binding the modular grid to the visible (external) walling (window and door openings in multiples of 1/2 of the module – 200 mm) for aesthetic reasons. The same applies to columns between windows.

Modular series 200 mm

Corners in the smooth design 200 mm modular series are built using the normal building block. For the split surface finish, we produce KB 5-21 B – corner-split.

Modular series 150 mm

For the 150 mm modular series, we produce the corner block KB 5-15 A (B), which enables retaining a 1-block bond.

Modular series 100 mm

In this series, the corner can be built using KB 5-11 B 300 (see figure). However, it has to be considered in the modular coordination.

Modular series 300 mm

In this series, the corner can be built using KB 5-11 B 300 (see figure). However, it has to be considered in the modular coordination.

Facing blocks

Corners in facing blocks can be built using normal facing blocks modified for interlocking paving using a splitter or a bricklayer’s hammer. A corner block of the necessary length is made by the splitting.
